What if my child will be absent from camp?
Campers are to be signed in to camp by 10:30am each morning. If your child will be absent from camp please call or email the camp director to inform them of the absence by 10:30am. Since camper attendance relies on parents or guardians dropping children off at camp, Camp personnel will not attempt to contact parents, guardians or emergency contacts if child is not signed in as expected. Fees will not be refunded for missed camp days.
What if my child has food allergies?
If your child has food allergies, please make sure that you communicate with Raise Leaders Directors. Please clearly list any allergies your child has on your registration form. Certain foods are not restricted from being brought in for lunches, but staff will monitor any child who indicates they have a food allergy.
How far in advance do I need to enroll my child for the start of the camp?
A benefit of enrolling your child in Raise Leaders Camp programs is that we keep registration open al year long! We do need to receive registrations for the following week by the preceding Friday. For example, if you would like to register for Week 8: August 10-14, you may enroll for that camp until Friday August 7th. We keep registration open to be flexible for families.
do you accept government assisted payments / offer reduced camp tuition?
No. We are a private organization and do not qualify for government assisted payments. Space in our camp program is limited and we are unable to offer discounts of any type.
WHERE DO I DROP OFF AND PICK UP MY CHILD?
We are implementing curbside drop off and pick up. At drop off, pull up to the curb and watch your child enter our facility, we will send you a text message confirming attendance check in. For pick up, pull up to the curb and text us that you have arrived. One of our staff members will bring your child to the car and check for ID if necessary. All parties picking up campers must be listed on your registration form and provide ID upon pick up. Please text (833) 712-0889 or email us at raestkd@live.com if you need to add an authorized party. Please include a copy of their drivers license.
Can i register my child for just one week?
Yes. Our camp registration is by week. However, our camp always fills up, so as soon as you know which weeks you would like to book, register online.
WHAT IF I GET DELAYED AND CANNOT PICK UP MY CHILD BY 6PM?
If you have not notified us in advance that this would be the case, call us to let us know, and we will add your child to the extended care group from 6-7pm and add a late pick up fee to your account $15. We offer extended care until 7pm for families who need a later pick up every day for $25/week.
is my child required to wear a mask?
Your child will need to bring a mask daily for field trip purposes. However, due to the high activity level of our camp, we do not require campers to wear masks. If you prefer that your child wear a mask throughout the camp day, including during training, please let us know and we will help your child remember to keep their mask on.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT RAISE LEADERS CAMPS
Our camp to counselor ratio is 1:8 for the juniors group (ages 6-8) and 1:10 for the seniors group (ages 9-14). We also have a leadership team member assigned to each counselor. We strive to provide our campers with a positive and individualized experience. Having a small camp allows us to help campers develop confidence, make friends and practice leadership. (In Florida, the law requires a 25:1 camper to counselor ratio).
Our camp is ACTIVE - Our campers run, kick, jump, sweat, train and play every day. TKD kids are fit kids and the summer is the best time to enhance fitness and martial arts skill levels. Our campers receive at least 2 to 4 hours of physical activity each day exceeding Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) standards.
Safety is paramount at Raise Leaders. All camp counselors must pass a nationwide background and drug screening and must hold current CPR certification.
Our camp is FUN - Our campers have a blast everyday! We go on daily field trips, teach exciting martial arts classes (like board breaking and jump kicks) and play team sports at the park (yes, we love soccer). Your kids will have the traditional camp experience paired with learning exciting new skills.
Our camp is FRIENDLY - Our campers develop friendships that last a lifetime in a positive, motivating environment. Components of our curriculum include anti-bullying and the value of friendship.
Our camp promotes LEADERSHIP - Our campers say yes ma'am and yes sir and participate in group discussions about leadership, courtesy, integrity and responsibility.
